Our History
In 1995, two friends, Geralyn and Connie, who both had dogs named Belle and Maxwell, opened a neighborhood teahouse and gift shop inspired by their pets' names. They offered a selection of loose teas from around the world, as well as breakfast and lunch featuring many vegan and vegetarian-inspired dishes. Belle & Maxwell's is located in the heart of West Palm Beach's Antique Row Art & Design District, home to over 40 shops filled with antiques from around the globe. The teahouse has become a popular destination for locals, Palm Beach residents, and visitors from around the world. In 2010, Belle & Maxwell's expanded into the adjacent space, transforming into a full-service restaurant that now serves lunch and dinner and offers in-house catering for events such as baby showers, bridal showers, birthdays, and graduations.
The tradition they started continues to this day. We offer a wide variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes, as well as an extensive selection of Italian cuisine. While we are not a health food restaurant, everything is made from scratch with no artificial or dietary products—just real home cooking.
Our menu features many options, including what are considered the best homemade desserts in town! We provide teas from around the world and source vegetables, meats, cheeses, and pasta from local vendors. Additionally, we serve beer, select wines, and champagne. Our goal is to make every dining experience memorable for our guests, and we take great pride in every dish we create.
West Palm Beach has seen significant changes over the years, but one constant remains: people continue to marry, have children, and celebrate their loved ones' birthdays. Belle & Maxwell's has been a part of many of these special occasions. Even today, when locals plan a baby shower, birthday party, or any event that requires catering, they think of us. We invite you to visit and discover for yourself why so many consider Belle & Maxwell's their home away from home.
